Picture Perfect Partners

What I mean by partners is that my company cannot deliver you the best value for your entertainment dollar by itself. We do not operate in a vacuum and are a part of synergy of manufactures, suppliers, educators, designers, and installers. The entertainment system in your home is the end result of a long chain of events. Products are designed and created. For them to be distributed, someone must pass along the benefits of each product to the system designer. The designer needs to be trained in the proper use and installation of the products. Those products need to be brought together with the end user to fulfill their needs. The partnership stands strong on three legs: the people, associations, and the products. The higher the level of professionalism in each of these usually unseen partners, the more fun and value you’ll get from your entertainment investment.

The Products

My 40 years working with professional audio and consumer audio / video gear gives me a unique perspective on what makes a great product. I feel that for me to recommend a product, as a truly great product, it has to have a high value attached to it. That can mean that it is so flat out amazing and is capable of performing like no other product can, that is it worth whatever the price just to get to enjoy it. Or, as most often is the case, I place a high value on a product when it offers exceptional service over a long period of time with out becoming outdated. As technology changes so rapidly these days, this type of product is getting harder and harder to find. I am constantly on the watch for an upgrade path in the products I recommend and in systems that I design. This spares us the agony and grief, to say nothing of the expense, of having to start from scratch and replace whole systems before their time should have come.

I get a kick out of a surround system I did for a friend and long time customer almost 20 years ago. This system has 5 identical speakers powered by 5 identical power amp channels plus a matching passive sub powered by matching amp. All he has had to do over the years is change is sources and processing. We stepped to Dolby Digital preamp a few years back and believe it or not he has 2 more identical speakers and amp channels ready for when I convince him to move to a 7.1 system. I designed home theaters 6 years ago with projectors that still outperform the specs needed for HDTV today. It recently sure was fun to say, “ I told you so”, all we need is this new tuner/ processor and now you have a brand new HDTV!

When I decided to start my own company I felt that I had a great opportunity to be able to choose the companies that I had admired over the years as the products I would represent. I now would have a chance to design and assemble systems that would achieve performance levels that were much higher than just the sum of the parts. One big break from tradition is that you’ll hear me talk a lot about “the room” being the most important part of a truly great system, regardless of the price range.

As you’ll see I came up with products named with A and Z, with a lot in between. I thought I’d list them along with the some of the reasons that I was drawn to these companies. There also is a synergy between certain products that dictates what works together to create the highest quality result. We all have certain biases and here are mine based on what I’ve experienced over the years
